Colette Brin est professeure titulaire au Département d’information et de communication de l’Université Laval, à Québec. Elle détient un doctorat en science politique de l’Université Laval. Mme Brin collabore également au Centre d’études sur les médias et à la Chaire de journalisme scientifique de l’Université Laval.
Ses travaux actuels s’articulent autour des transformations récentes et en cours des pratiques journalistiques, notamment par l’entremise des politiques publiques et des initiatives organisationnelles en tant que mécanismes de régulation, ainsi que sur le discours professionnel des journalistes.
Colette Brin est membre de l’équipe de direction et du comité éditorial de ProjetJ (http://www.projetj.ca), observatoire indépendant du journalisme financé par la Fondation canadienne pour le journalisme.
Elle est également présidente de l’Association canadienne de communication et anime un blogue intitulé « Mieux s’informer à l’heure du numérique », pour le magazine Contact à l’Université Laval (http://www.blogues.ulaval.ca).

Colette Brin, Professor at the Information and Communication Department at Université Laval, in Québec City, holds a Ph.D. in Political Science from Université Laval. Dr. Brin also collaborates with the Media Studies Centre and Science Journalism Chair, both at Université Laval.
Her current research focuses on recent and ongoing changes in journalism practices, especially their regulation through public policy and organizational initiatives, as well as journalists’ professional discourse.
Dr. Brin sits on the management and editorial committees of ProjetJ, an independent source of news and analysis on journalism (http://www.projetj.ca) supported by the Canadian Journalism Foundation.
She is also the current President of the Canadian Communication Association and blogs on journalism and the digital media environment at Laval’s alumni magazine, Contact (http://www.blogues.ulaval.ca).
